Chainlink Labs Joins GAKS to Strengthen KRW Stablecoin Global Standards
Chainlink Labs has aligned with the Global Alliance for KRW Stablecoin (GAKS), a consortium spearheaded by South Korean blockchain leader WEMADE. The partnership, announced on January 27, 2026, integrates Chainlink’s oracle expertise into Korea’s push for regulated, institution-grade KRW-backed stablecoins.
GAKS, established in November 2025, aims to address regulatory gaps and enhance transparency for KRW-denominated stablecoins amid growing global scrutiny of fiat-backed digital assets. Chainlink’s role will bolster technical capabilities in data integrity, cross-chain interoperability, and compliance—critical pillars for stablecoins operating within regulated frameworks.
The alliance leverages WEMADE’s 600M+ user platform and Chainlink’s infrastructure to advance Korea’s stablecoin standards. Focus areas include on-chain verification and privacy protocols, positioning KRW stablecoins for institutional adoption.
